David Dirksen
Co-Owner & Founder of Best Damn Gummy's, David Dirksen, served in the Marines for four years where he rose through the ranks quickly and held several billets to include leading programs with over 800 Marines, and leading multiple convoys in one of the most kinetic environments in the world, Afghanistan.
After the Marines David went into the logistics field where he worked as a truck driver, transportation coordinator, and assistant operations manager. David was instrumental in the Michigan Medical Cannabis Industry by having a key interest in Secure Transportation, helping form what is now today’s laws and regulations.
After Michigan, David and his partners took what they learned in the medical cannabis industry and implemented these standards in the national hemp industry, forming what was the first ever hemp security and transportation company.
David left that company in December of 2019 taking all of his connections and relationships over the past years and started his career in CBD manufacturing, finding his niche in CBD gummies, which helped him get through the hardships he faced while on active duty.
Thus, Best Damn Gummy's was born!
Cliff Williams
Co-Owner & President of Best Damn Gummy's, Cliff Williams, served just over 3 years in the US Army as an Infantryman until an injury during a pre-deployment training exercise caused a medical separation. Cliff was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for playing on the Army hockey team, as well as the Expert Marksmanship Badge while stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
Post service, Cliff pursued his passion for the love of music and began hosting music festivals throughout Michigan, alongside writing music. In 2020, Cliff successfully planned and executed what was known as the 'Greatest and safest party of 2020,' ReVibe Wellness Retreat. Cliff rented out the entire Hilton Hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC and brought festival size stages for patrons to experience the first ever Vertical Music Festival in America, allowing them to view their favorite artists while safely residing in their balcony, overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.
Cliff left the music industry to engage in another passion, cannabis, which helped the pain from his injuries during active-duty military service. He joined BDG in 2021 and has helped David build BDG into the brand it is today.
